Sure, there is definitely some hype to Sandals marketing, but does it live up to the standard?

At the time of this post, Sandals was just crowned the World’s #1 All-Inclusive Resorts by the World Travel Awards – for the 25th consecutive year!

Indeed, that speaks volumes without my commentary.

Just simply take a look at the inclusions of any Sandals Resort and you’ll quickly know why.

I have the pleasure of inspecting all 3 of the resorts in St. Lucia each year; each time, I am truly in awe at the forward progress the brand has taken.

In order to best decide your honeymoon, let’s have a detailed look at each of these brilliant resorts.

As a reminder, all Sandals Resorts are premium all-inclusive; so, rather than focusing on the inclusions all resorts have, I will discuss their unique features below.

Sandals Regency La Toc

In my opinion, this is one of the most underrated resorts in the entire brand portfolio.

It falls on the cheaper half of the Sandals price spectrum, but it certainly has its own reasons to shine.

Sandals Regency La Toc is a stunning cliff-side estate, sprawling on 220 acres in Castries, Saint Lucia.

When it comes to unparalleled views from a height, Regency La Toc is unmatched.

This potential honeymoon is located along a half-mile beach, the “Emerald of the Caribbean.”

Here, you will find 9 Global Gourmet Dining Restaurants – each with their unique flair.

Golf lover? The Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Club is located on property – green fees included!

Out of the resorts, you’ll find this option the southernmost of the 3 on the island.

Sandals Halcyon Beach

Colloquially referred to as Saint Lucia’s “Garden of Eden,” Sandals Halcyon Beach is a smaller resort that places the top focus on calm, intimate relaxation.

While not lacking in amenities, you won’t find large parties at this resort – leaving that to their sister resorts with the extra space.

At Sandals Halcyon, the resort prides itself on peacefulness and tranquility.

A gorgeous beach at one angle and the rising famous Piton Mountains in another direction, why not be caught in paradise?

Location-wise, this destination is tucked perfectly between the other two – an important element for the stay & play I’ll discuss later.

This relaxing escape provides 6 Global Gourmet Dining options, including the well-known Kimonos – a show-style teppanyaki Oriental culinary delight!

Sandals Grande St. Lucian

All the majesty of Sandals Resorts comes to rest at Sandals Grande St. Lucian.

Rated in the top-3 properties in the entire brand, this magical resort certainly lives up to the “Grande” in its name.

Indeed, when you first enter the resort in a royal indoor rotunda courtyard, you instantly feel the majesty of this location.

The recent winner of “Saint Lucia’s Leading Resort,” you can find much of the best here with 12 Global Gourmet Restaurants, some of the finest suites, and the highest number of included sports and amenities on the island.

In my opinion, the management in this resort are also some of the best in the Caribbean’s entirety; say hi to the beloved Winston Anderson, the GM, for me!

Have a decent honeymoon budget?

Sandals Grande St. Lucia is famous for both their Rondovals I mention in the next portion and their amazing over-the-water bungalows. Here are two pieces of visual candy of these mesmerizing suites, which come with private butlers, of course.

Sandals Honeymoon Package

When it comes to celebrations, you can rely on Sandals, a brand dedicated to couples romance, to make these special.

Anniversaries. Weddings. Proposals. Birthdays. Babymoons.

Honeymoons are certainly no exception!

If you are traveling within 30-days of your wedding date (or staying after your free wedding at Sandals), you are eligible for Sandals free honeymoon package.

Sandals is known for their extreme inclusions, so these simply kick it up a notch.

This package includes romantic features such as a bubbly welcome in your suite, a special romantic turn-down service for the first evening of your honeymoon, and a delightful honeymoon breakfast in bed.

If you are staying in a butler category suite, you can expect your butler to even sweeten the deal!

To take advantage of this, you must first book your stay and then fill out this form quickly thereafter.

Honeymoon Considerations & Tips

Accommodation Types

You might already be familiar with the 3 tiers of luxury at any Sandals: Luxury, Club Sandals, and Butler Elite.

For a honeymoon, I really recommend Club level rooms/suites and higher and, if your budget allows, the immense value that comes with the Butler level.

Privacy

Let’s not be shy. We all know what happens on a honeymoon.

Accordingly, when selecting your final destination, you want to ensure you book a room that offers the kind of ambience desired and, perhaps, privacy.

Just so you know, all suites at Sandals have extra thick walls, so I’m talking less about sound, but rather where you want to be in the resort – some love the intimate garden views, others resort-facing, while others most be along the oceanfront.

For example, if you end up in one of the luxurious Rondoval suites at Sandals Grande St. Lucian, you can book either a secluded garden Rondoval with a private pool (great for honeymoon skinny dipping?!) or you can have a similar Rondoval with the private pool open to the ocean!

The best suites (many Club and most Butler) at Sandals come with super-size Tranquility Soaking Tubs – you’ve seriously got to check these out. You can find these both on the balcony and inside the lavish bathrooms, different with each suite setup.

The Balcony Tranquility Soaking Tubs generally have heavy-duty curtains that can close off your balcony to give you the choice of either open-air ambience or a quiet, intimate space.

I’m pleased to say that you can now find these Balcony Tranquility Soaking Tubs in a wide variety of suites at Sandals Regency La Toc, Sandals Grande St. Lucian, and Sandals Halcyon Beach.

Relaxation or Adventure: Your Choice

When we embark upon our honeymoon, we all have an idea about what we hope to do with our loved one; sometimes we are on the same page, and sometimes, not so much.

Sandals Resorts are great because each destination offers a mix of relaxation and activities – enough for any mood in which you find yourself.

However, if you know you will want to do more activities or more relaxation in general, this might sway your choice of accommodation location in Saint Lucia.

Sandals Halcyon provides a more relaxed, quiet, and intimate atmosphere overall – though there are still plenty of activities and amenities.

Sandals Grande St. Lucian offers the most variety on activities, dining, and overall over-the-top luxuries, yet you can still find quiet areas. This is considered the most luxurious of these.

Sandals Regency La Toc finds itself somewhere in the middle of the above two on that sliding relaxation/adventure scale.

Stay & Play

Perhaps the most attractive feature about this trifecta of resorts, when you stay at any one of these three locations, you get access to the others as well!

Yes, this means that your dining has just increased to a grand total of 27 restaurants, complimented by 21 premium bars across the brands.

Essentially, anything would be normally included at one location, you’ll be completely entitled to at the others.

Dining. Drinking. Water-sports. Entertainment. Land Activities. Pools. 2 Golf Courses. Lounging.

It’s all yours!

This factor alone makes the aforementioned elements more important because you now have the ability to have a preference of accommodation style and ambience, but embrace the offerings of another entirely when your mood demands.

Oh, did I mention that transfers between these three paradises are included?!
